Welcome to the Fox Class

OURSELVES
History | Grandparents (comparing to ourselves and looking at artefacts and talking about things from the past, such as holidays, home-life etc).

Science | Ourselves (Look at what our bodies can do, label bodies and explore our 5 senses, investigate how we can make our bodies change.

Design + Technology | Design and make a fruit salad (Look at healthy eating, discuss what we like and don't like to eat, explore and try fruit and vegetables that we haven't eaten before, design and make a fruit salad).

Physical Education | Dance - movement to music.

Art | Portraits (look at proportions, mixing paint, facial features, explore artists of portraits, draw and paint a picture of our grandparents).
THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON
History | The Great Fire of London (we look at events, first hand accounts, reasons for the fire).

Literacy | We link it a lot to literacy and write our own first hand accounts and make posters about facts we learn about the fire.

Music | Exploring timbre, tempo and dynamics (we make up songs, last year we made a song up to the tune 'I hear thunder').

Art | Collage (we use different effects to create pictures of the fire, we made Tudor houses using white paper and black strips, then we made a background by mixing flame colours and creating the flame shapes, we stuck our houses on top and then used a range of materials to create a collage effect).

Science | Materials (we looked at a range of materials and their properties, we talked about why objects were made out of certain materials, we loosely related this to the materials we learned about in the Great Fire of London).
