Celia Hollings Year Four take part in a 3 day residential visit to the Lake District, staying at Troutbeck Youth Hostel at Windermere. Westwood Primary School | Year 4 Welcome to the Hedgehog Class The Year Four curriculum is split into 6 main themes, studied in depth over a half term. THE VIKINGS We find out about why the Vikings came to Britain 1200 years ago. We even re-enact a Viking raid in drama work and think about the attack from the Viking's perspective and the point of view of the Anglo Saxon. Why not plan your own Viking Invasion by taking part in the game Viking Quest. A VILLAGE IN KENYA We study what life is like in an African village and how children's lives there are similar and different to ours. VOLCANOES + EARTHQUAKES As part of our topic about rocks and soil, we find out about where volcanoes occur and why they erupt. We even make our own erupting volcanoes. TEETH + HEALTHY EATING We find out how to look after our teeth and how we keep healthy by eating a balanced diet. LIFE IN ANCIENT EGYPT We find out about Ancient Egypt from the things left behind.
